Some of the things I find useful for learning about tech
🛠️ TOOL
ChatGPT
A generative AI chatbot. Probably the best tool that helps me to learn by asking questions and getting it to expand ideas until I fully understand them. Customising agents and using the API is great too.
🛠️ TOOL
Cursor AI
An AI-driven IDE for coding. This is the most powerful tool I have come across for writing and querying code with AI. I use it extensively.
🌐 SITE
Stackoverflow.com
This is a website form for programmers. I don't often use it but sometimes refer to it when troubleshooting difficulty coding issues
🌐 SITE
GoingVC.com
A VC ecosystem website. Used to learn about the practical knowledge needed to understand and work in the VC industry.
📄 REPORT
Beacon Venture Report
A report by Aumni & Fenwick on report on the state of the venture capital market.
🌐 SITE
Producthunt.com
A website for niche and indie tech products. INot explicitly a learning tool, but I draw inspiration for the possibilities of micro tech solution.
📚 BOOK
Start small, stay small
Rob walling
A step-by-step guide to launching products. The book (and other work from the author) really drove home the point that the start point to great products is starting with a problem, not an idea.
📚 BOOK
The Mom Test
Rob Fitzpatrick
A book on how to talk to customers to get honest and reliable feedback. A great book I refer to when trying to validate new ideas. It saved me from at least one idea that was probably not the best before I landed on the idea for Halal Maps.
📚 BOOK
Zero to one
Peter Thiel
A book on value creation. One of the first books I read about products, companies, and startups that provided a strong frame for creating value through novel capabilities.
